The Kentucky fight song “On! On! U of K” was first published in the 1925 University of Kentucky yearbook, a collaboration between the UK music department chair, Dr. Carl Lambert, and UK student Troy Perkins. Although typically associated with the basketball team, Perkins wrote the lyrics specific to football. We borrowed from one of our favorite lines (“we’ll kick, pass and run, ‘til the battle is won”) and paired it with this purr-fect vintage wildcat.
